Moving!

I know said I was going to be posting every day until I got caught up with life...but I wasn't planning on moving when I said that.  We are now in the middle of packing up the house and moving it over to the new house...can we say BUSY???  So, that being said, I need the weekend to get as much done around here as I can while Brent is home to help me.  I will be back on Monday with more of the summers best reading :)

9 Months

My little girl is 9 months old today!!!  She is one amazing little girl.  Here is a little bit about 9 month Harlow.

Harlow Stats:  I have no idea her height and weight but we go to the Dr tomorrow for her well baby check up so I can update this when we get back.  She is getting so big though!  She can wear either 6-9 or 12 month clothes!  She also has 2 teeth now which is super cute.  She is wearing size 3 diapers and I would guess size 2 shoes...although it is summer and I don't ever put them on her so I don't really know.

Harlow started crawling just before turning 8 months and hasn't stopped moving since.  Her new favorite thing to do is to crawl up to something, stand up and then walk around holding onto stuff.  I can't believe she is doing that already...Brenna didn't crawl until she was 9 months!

She LOVES food!  She eats anything and everything.  It is getting more and more difficult to allow the rest of us to eat our regular food because she wants to share so bad.  It wont be too long before I make the entire family follow her allergy restrictions.  I don't want her to grow up feeling left out so I figure the rest of us can adjust.

She is just starting to show be clingy to me...which I am so not complaining about!  Sometimes when Brent is home and wants to help out she will cry and refuse to eat with him...then I come along and she chows down.  It is really sweet and at the same time a little frustrating because it is always nice when he can help out.

I really tried to get her to say Mama for Mother's Day but that was a No Go.  She jabbers all day long and her favorite sounds are Dadada and Nanana.  Brent and my Mom are very happy about this :)

Harlow is still a very easy and happy baby.  We have been lucky because she easily adapts to her surroundings and can go with the flow.  She is getting to the "crying every time I leave the room" stage but now that she can crawl I hope she will get over it quickly.

We will be getting her pictures done again soon...but Ashley has been so dang super busy that it is hard to find 10 min to do it sometimes.  Hopefully this week we can get it taken care of so I can update this post.  I am still waiting on the CD from the month 8 session so I can update that post!

All I have to say in closing is that if this little girl decides to walk before my next post...I might cry.

Easter 2012

Easter 2012 was very low key for us.  We did the usual church, egg hunt and ham dinner...but my girls are really young and trying to explain the real meaning of Easter to them is like talking to a fence post.

They did get dressed up in their new dresses from Grandma and Grandpa DeRoest for the big day!

Brent and I took the girls to church and while we were gone the Easter Bunny came and left all of this fantastic stuff for them!  Harlow got snacks, a sippy cup, money and some stuffed animals.  Brenna got toys, candy, money and stuffed animals.  They also each got outside chairs from Mommy and Daddy, and a present from Nana and Papa.  SPOILED!!

The new sippy cup...she doesn't quite have the hang of it yet but it is only a matter of time!

Brenna had a great time hunting for eggs.  The Easter Bunny hid the real eggs inside and the plastic eggs outside.  Whenever Brenna would see an egg she would shout.."found one!"

Considering these are all filled with money I would say she did great this year!

Poor Harlow had to watch from the back porch this year.  Next year she will be all over it though :)

I have to say that the best part of our Easter this year was having Aunt Nessy here with us.  It is really hard, especially on holidays, to be away from family.  I promised myself when I first moved here that I will never take for granted the times that I have my family close by.  You never know when life will change and they wont be there anymore.  Thanks for coming Ness and making our Easter the BEST!

Egg Dying

This year for Easter we were so excited to have my sister (aka Aunt Nessy) here for a visit!  The girls practically forgot who I was during the almost 2 week visit while they fell completely in love with her.  We dyed eggs for Easter the night before and the girls (and adults) had a blast!

One thing that we learned is that when you use crayon to draw pictures on the eggs...don't use washable crayons!  It took us forever to figure out why the drawings weren't showing up...hahaha duh!

Fun in the Sun

We have had really fantastic weather in Arizona this year.  The girls and I have enjoyed playing outside with friends and enjoying the sunshine.

This is a car that I bought for the girls to ride around in.  Sometimes when we don't take Brent to school (and therefore don't have a car to go anywhere) Brenna will offer up her car to get us where she wants to go.  Nice offer...but I don't think so!

My parents got Brenna this trampoline for her birthday.  Since we don't have room for it in the house we roll it out into the yard so she can work off some energy.  She loves this thing!

She also loves to take her babies and stuffed animals for a ride in the stroller.

Nathan and Kaylee come over a lot to play.  This day they brought over this cool worm.  It is supposed to move forward little by little as the child bounces on it...these kiddos are too light to make it actually move so they will settle for pushing each other.

We are really excited for our move so that we will have a nice back yard for the kids to play in!  Yay for grass!!

Birthday Bike!!

I feel like it becomes increasingly more difficult as a parent to know what to get your child for special occasions.  When she was younger I could always say that she is too young to really know, but that is not the case anymore.  I want my children to feel special on their birthday...after all, those days are the best days I have ever experienced in my life so if for no other reason than because I CAN...I do.  This year we decided to get Brenna a bike.  I wasn't sure if a 3 year old has the coordination to be able to ride a bike but I thought we would give it a try.  I can honestly say that after 1 day of practicing at home, she was ready to ride around the block when Daddy came home from work!  She still needs a little push every now and then but for the most part she does great.

Brenna got a card in the mail with money from Aunt Misty.  When I took her to the store to pick something out she found a cute little basket to put on the front of her bike!  I will get an updated picture of the bike with the basket on it because it is too cute.  Thanks Aunt Misty!
