Hunting for a Christmas Tree is one of my favorite traditions that we have now that Brenna is old enough to understand what is going on. My dad usually has the tree scouted out months early but he makes a really fun game for Brenna when it is time to go get the tree. He cuts it down and then sticks it in the snow in the woods near the house. Then we go find it. She loves it and it makes for a great Papa activity.
This is the gang heading out to look for the tree. Grandpa D was there with us too this year but since he was taking pictures too he wasn't in any of mine.

We weave around on different trails on their property and my dad points to "obvious NOs" so that Brenna feels like she is the one choosing the tree. Here is the winner for the year. She approved so we decided to take it home.

Papa "cutting" down the tree. I am bummed because I didn't get any of Brenna helping him with the saw.

Ready to take it home!

Daddy did the lights and Nana did the garland and the glass ornaments. Brenna got to do all of the kid friendly ones at the bottom. She loved getting to choose where to put them and getting to do it all by herself.

This ended up being one of my favorite trees from the past few years. I was surprised at how great the kids did around it. We didn't break a single ornament or ruin any of the decorations. The closest we came was when I found Harlow with a strand of the lights in her mouth. That is when I realized that she was reaching out to grab things that she wanted!
